HIV & Sexually Transmitted Diseases

HIV TESTING/COUNSELING

SHIAWASSEE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT offers both anonymous and confidential HIV testing.  An anonymous test does not require any personal identification.  A confidential test requires your name, but will remain confidential.

The test is usually conducted using Orasure, an oral swab method that is painless and does not require a blood draw.

HIV testing is available at the SCHD with a public health nurse who is certified through the Michigan Department of Community Health to conduct HIV testing and counseling.
