Public Health Emergency Preparedness

Our Focus

The health and safety of the citizens of Shiawassee County is our primary concern.  This division focuses on ongoing planning and collaborating with the community and partners to assure our response during an emergency is efficient and timely in protecting the health of Shiawassee County residents.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build resilient communities in partnership through education, preparedness, response and recovery from a variety of public health emergencies, including infectious disease outbreaks, natural disasters and terrorism.

How We Dot It

We collaborate to create guides, plans, and templates.  We also collaborate on multiple preparedness and response activities, such as presentations, trainings, drills and exercises for the public, heath care providers and facilities, community-based organizations, and local governments to coordinate public health emergency preparedness activities.

Our Partners (kind of long might need to shorten)

PHEP works in partnership with other public health departments, local governments, schools, community-based organizations, professional associations, emergency medical service providers and a range of healthcare providers.
